Day Three

... but first the missing pictures from Day Two!

Here's the marker for the geographic center of North America - visited by none other than Baby Bear and Baby Duke.

Since Abby's not here to take a picture of her feet, Anne decided to take her own foot picture!

And amazingly, Brian is still smiling after many hours at the wheel.

Day Three started hot and just got hotter.  It was about 38 when we stopped in Osseo, Minnesota.  Brian was captivated by the sign on the highway for the Norske Nook Bakery - and we weren't disappointed.  The food wasn't that good, but the restaurant was staffed by stereotypical Minnesotan women  - if you've seen the movie New In Town (Renee Zelwegger), any of these women could have been in the movie.  When our waitress called us "youse", Anne burst out laughing (you really have to see the movie to appreciate the humour).

After coffee and a loginberry muffin, we checked out the gift shop.

Many hot  (around 100 F) hours later, we foolishly drove through Chicago at rush hour, but saw lots of the city including downtown and Wrigley Field.

We're spending the night in Elkhart, Indiana and tomorrow plan to get to Buffalo, NY.
